Everyone likes free stuff, so we’ve put together some hints, tips and access to guides and reports that you might find useful :
Budgeting:
The government can occassionally do some good things, and their website « Moneysmart » is a great source of information. Click here to access a great budgeting tool. The biggest challenge we all face is to manage our cashflow, once we do that we can plan for the future. Until you budget you have no control of your finances.
Repayments:
That same moneysmart website has all sorts of other calculators as well. But here’s a quick and easy one to use for a 30 year home loan. For every $1,000 you borrow it will cost you $5-37 per month. So, if you want to borrow $350,000 – well that’s 350 lots of $1,000, so you can work the repayment out as follows :
350 x $5-37 = $1,879-50 per month
No fancy calculators – just a nice easy multiplication you can do on any calculator.
